p0300 is a random misfire and p0305 and p0306 are cylinders 5 and 6 misfiring, If this has the COP design I would swap the two coils to cylinders 1 and 2 and erase the codes then see if the misfire codes follows it.
We really need to know the make model and engine size.November 29, 2011 at 11:00 am #449431hey i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 and i had a random misfire code to, i had a problem with the catalyst converter and O2 sensors i fixed that and cleared the code and the truck runs like new
so check the catalyst converter and the O2 sensors

What vehicle are you working on?
What brand of replacement parts did you use, OEM or aftermarket?
A blinding CEL is a Class A Misfire.
If a cylinder is misfiring, there are many variables that can cause this. I would stress test the ignition system on the affected cylinders as well as performing a cylinder balance test.
That should give you a good starting point.
November 30, 2011 at 11:00 am #449433My car is a 2001 Honda Accord V6 EX. I used an BWG #EGR1433 replacement valve.
I’ve swapped the coils around and I still have the same issues. The TCS light still comes on and the Check Engine light blinks constantly. I’m about to check for leakage on the wires…
November 30, 2011 at 11:00 am #449434I’m also pretty certain that I have a bad heated O2 sensor…I’ve replaced the rear one by the cat before, but not the front one.
November 30, 2011 at 11:00 am #449435The EGR has nothing to do with the idle and those valves rarely have a problem. Since you just cleaned the EGR passages you might have either gotten the gasket on wrong or it’s damaged and causing a vacuum leak so you might want to go back and check that. It’s not likely that the coil packs are bad either but it’s worth doing a power balance test to see if you can nail down the effected cylinders, here is a video for you. Once you have done that and checked the gasket report back with your findings and we can take it from there. BTW make sure you use NGK or Nippoon Denso plugs in that engine, just about everything else I’ve seen causes problems.
November 30, 2011 at 11:00 am #449436how do i do a power balance test? Never done that before.

Eric posted a youtube video link on how to do it.
December 1, 2011 at 11:00 am #449439If the issue followed the coil pack as you stated above, then i think we are all pretty confident that your coil pack may be at fault.
Although you did post earlier that you already swapped the coils around and there was no change…

December 1, 2011 at 11:00 am #449438I did the test and the cylinder on the rear driver side showed issues. So I swapped the coil pack for that cylinder and the problem followed the coil pack. I guess its bad….would you guys concur?
December 5, 2011 at 11:00 am #449440A link was posted with my post to the Power balance test video but it seems you may have found the problem but as dreamer2355 pointed out you had already stated that you swapped coils. I would replace that coil and see what you have then.
December 5, 2011 at 11:00 am #449441I replaced the problem coil and all of the misfire issues have now gone away. After cleaning the EGR ports and replacing the EGR valve, those issues are no longer an issue. I do have a couple of other issues that I will post.
Thanks a lot to everyone for you input and help.
