I just replaced the head gaskets on a 2002 Buick rendezvous 3.4 engine. When I took the wires off, two of them broke and I replaced them with two wires I took off an s10. Those are the two wires that when I take them off with the engine running, it doesn’t change. However, spark is coming through the wires. Does anyone else agree that the wires are the most likely culprit? Compression is good on all cylinders

You can check the plug wires with an ohmmeter. Measure the length of the wire in feet and multiply by 3000 and that should be the approximate resistance of the wire. For example, a 24″ wire = 2 feet x 3000 = 6000 ohms. Then, put an ohmmeter probe on the terminal at each end of the plug wire and compare the resistance to what you calculated.
