      i have a car that im working on and i have a misfire on all cylinders and random misfire. car has a rouh idle
      i did a compression test and got 90 psi on cylinder 4. 120 psi on cylinder 3.105 psi on cylinder 2. and 125 on cylinder number 1. i need some advice on what i should do from here. if you can pleace try and point me in the right way to go on from here

      its a 1998 honda civic dx

      do you think a vavle adjustment will inprove the compression?

        Might suggest doing a leak down test on each cylinder.
        Your compression measurements are quite varied.
        You need to determine the cause, be it cylinder wear, rings, valves and /or valve seats

            Also a wet compression. That will help you quickly differentiate between rings and valves.

              Compression issues aside, the misfire could be entirely unrelated, and caused by a fault in an ignition component.

              A single component or a combination of things like the coil, distributor cap and rotor, plug wires (condition, routing and firing order) and plugs/plug gaps could be at fault.

                thanks im still waiting for my leakdown test to get in from tool truck then i will get back and update it on here

                    If your compression would have got better with a wet test, your rings would be suspect.

                    As it stands you are losing compression somewhere. As stated, a leak down test can help determine where your compression loss is.

                    It may be an intake or exhaust valve that is bent or burned or a bad head gasket, or a warped head…

                        Well, you really don’t NEED a leak down tester… you can just put air directly into cylinder (with piston at TDC) at a lower pressure and listen through exhaust for Exhaust valve issue, listen through throttle body for intake issue, check coolant for bubbles for gasket issue, as well as through dipstick…

                          okay will try that in the nexted day but if it is leaking throw one of the vavles do you think i should do a vavle adjustment on that cylinder to see if it gets better

                            maybe you should replace your fouled spark plug with one that’s not as dirty
