misfire

hi guys. i have a 2000 vw passat 2.8L v6. when starting the car it starts poorly. sometimes i crank it it starts and 2 seconds later it dies, but ussualy on the 3rd try it satrts and runs somehow noisy though. i scaned it with a vag com and i got a p0300, 301 302 and 303. so basicly the whole left bank is misfiring. any suggestions?

Intake leak? See Eric’s latest(replacing intake gasket) and checking for vacuum leaks vids would be my suggestion for a starting point.

If you suspect an intake leak, run the water hose around on the engine listneing for a change in idle. Just a medium flow out the open hose works well and its safe. Better if the engine is cool.

check your spark cables that may be the issue

Yes, i would start with the plug wires and plugs and move on to vacuum leaks from there. If those are not the problem, …hmmmm.. depending on if your auto has 2 cats or one, if it has 2, One on each side of the engine, i would most deff check the one on the side thats mis firing.
