mercedes benz 1998 c230 I need a Pro that knows MB

I have a Mercedes Benz 1998 c230, When the car is idling and u floor the gas it hesitates for a half a second then bogs out little bit then the rpms will shoot up like normal. also when u are at a stop and you give it gas to go sometimes it does not accelerate well. I got the codes off the car and this is what it tells me…

Current Codes:
P0170 – Fuel Trim Bank 1
P0442 – Small Evap Leak Detected
P0455 – large Evap Leak Detected

Pending Codes:
P0130 – Oxygen sensor circut bank 1 sensor 1
P0136 – Oxygen sensor circut bank 1 sensor 2

I am no European car expert, but you are dealing with two separate problems.

1. The fuel error… Have to start on this by looking at the live data and fuel trims… IMHO looks like an electrical problem or failing A/F sensors.

2. You have an EVAP system issue… may be a gas cap, or a vacuum line leak in a remote location.. may need a smoke machine to find this problem…

Does this car have a turbo? You definitely have a vacume leak in the evap system.your fuel trim problems could be 02 sensor related. I have a c230 for the past 7 years and all hesitation problems have been vacume leaks
