Mechanic’s School?

:unsure: Howdy! Has anyone ever gone to the mechanic’s school to get their car fixed? I heard you only have to pay for parts. I need to have a transmission rebuilt and was considering taking it to the school here. Any thoughts?

The college i attend for my update classes does service work on customer vehicles. They only charge for parts and supplies used, no labor. You do sign a waver of some sort though seeing as the people in those classes are technicians in training more or less.

As for doing such a large job as transmission rebuilding, i would talk to one of the college’s automotive professors and see what type of success and come backs they have had doing transmission work.
