I replaced the cv axle on my 2003 MDX with a Napa remanufactured axle. The car now whines and vibrates during acceleration. Not terribly, it’s just not Acura smooth. It was my first attempt at a cv axle replacement and everything was straightforward. Do you think it is the cheaper part or is there something I could have missed during installation? Opinions welcome.

I am not sure if it is the axle, bug what I can tell you for sure is, if you took it Acura or Honda they would tell you 100% it is the axle.

That being said, are you sure that something is not rubbing like the disk brake shield rubbing on the disk or something touching the axle?

re-manufactured axles can sometimes be a hit or a miss. took my car 3 axles to get it running smooth. But make sure the splines are not damaged . Also, it may be that it is a smaller diameter shaft and the OEM are relatively larger diameter. Might also be your mounts and bearings

Not all aftermarket parts are created equal. I like Mevotech when it comes to axles. That said, it could be something with your installation as well. Probably not a bad idea to go back over your work. Lastly, you might want to check the transmission fluid level and condition. Be sure that you’re only using Honda fluid as the use of other fluids can cause issues.
