HI,
I Have a 94 ford F250 with a 460. The original engine had 360,000, It became very tired. It was burning about a quart every hundred miles or so. Plugs started to foul, well you know the rest. Was getting 12mpg after advancing the timing. Still had a lot of power, but couldn’t lay rubber a quarter mile anymore 😛 Just an eighth, LOL. Put a 95 year 460 in it while I rebuild the original. 95 heads suck, now down to 11 mpg!
I live in New Jersey, and it’s pretty much flat. I do a lot of highway miles at 65 mph. Do you think if modified the firing order at highway speeds in overdrive from 15426378 to 14675238, really don’t like 8 and 1 being in the same order. Maybe 12756843, I can make a pcb to tell the ecm that the spark did fire while turning the injector off and I can also make the o2 sensor think that the fuel is being consumed when no fuel and no spark was physically given. Maybe tie it into the tps to go back to full power when needed. I think I would also have to add a large vacuum tank to maintain pressure, or lack of, for the brakes and other accessories. Do you think this will harm the engine in any way?
Thanks for your time,
Jerry
