Hello,
It seems that car manufacturer provide complety different maintenance schedule for USA vs canadian customer. I noticed that for oil change. For example the USA Hyundai web site recommend to perform the oil change for a Tucson to every 7500 miles compare to the canadian one that says 6000km (which is 3750 miles).It is half less! I can’t can explain to my self that huge difference. The only thing I could think is the climate, but I don’t really see how climate could have an impact or at least a big impact. Thanks in advance!

Any time you look in the owners manual there is a recommend service interval for harsh driving which most people fall in but they look at the other. This includes short trips, cold starts, dusty roads, etc. Some of it may be due to that, some of it may be you government regulations to have them lean towards a more truthfull standard. I change my oil every 4500 but I don’t start my car in minus temperatures…… Hope this awnsers your question.
