MAF sensor issues

      hello i broke one pin from the maf sensor in accident now shes running bad. she takes long to start when she does…(with maf sensor unpluged) and if i dont rev it up she dies but when i rev it up she wants to die so i rev it full throtle until she can hold her self on after she worms up she runs fine i turn her off and on back in no problem… when i plug in the maf sensor the whole engine moves and even smoke comes out… is there anything i can do to fix my MAF or i need to get a new one im stuck in mexico for a while and the maf sensor for this car is a bit to high they are asking close to 400 dllrs for it… she is a 95 hyundai accent 5 manual. 2 doors can i just grab one from a different car and adapt it to fit there and she works fine again? or i have to order one from USA wish are 100 dllrs or les

        hmm, depending if your “VERY” good with a soldering iron, maybe solder the pin back on? Other than that i would try to find a replacement. “maybe even junk yards” if there are any available.

          You may be able to force a sewing pin or something similar into the plastic next to where the pin broke off in the sensor. Then cut it to the same length as the other good pins and put the connector back on to the sensor. Heat the pin up so it will be easier to slide through the plastic and make contact with the broken pin. You may have to bend the pin to line up with the connector. Hope this helps you.

                yes he is as always i tell them every single detail with the car and it was also hard not to notice… hehe thank all

                  I’m glad it worked out because I was going to say that all you can really do is replace the sensor, it’s not often you can repair those, in fact it’s not likely at all, it’s a very delicate device.
