Lug Stud40 too

      Once again on 05 Neon…

      When I had the bearing pressed in my passenger side is appears as though the cut out to take out and put lug studs in was placed in wrong position. I have the old broken stud removed (with help of $40 cut off tool) but now the new one will not go in UNLESS I tap it in with a hammer there for leaving a bit of an uneven and larger hole. Truly not sure if I should just buy a junk yard knuckle and replace the whole thing at this point or just go forward and risk it.

      Your guys’ input?

          After I watched it, I really do not understand what the problem is. Stud cutout is not part of bearing, it’s part of knuckle. Bearing+studs spins on the knuckle. How can you possibly have this “installed wrong”? You press bearing into the knuckle and spin it till stud hole matches the knuckle cut out.
          I also do not understand this:

          What do you mean? Of course you tap stud in, till it goes, then put rotor on, take a lug nut with through hole, and tighten that nut. It pulls stud in. Or, you can place larger inner diameter nuts over the stud, and use regular closed top lug nut, to pull stud in.

            Essentially the cut out is on a plate that is cut out and bolted on before pressing the bearing. Notch is on the upper LEFT side and not the RIGHT side by were caliber goes (were it should be). Gonna remove the whole knuckle and see if we can’t just cut a notch in to give the new stud just enough room.
