I’ve been doing research to replace my lower radiator hose, however it has a spring in it and I am finding conflicting statements on whether the spring is necessary or not. The hose is a curved hose and removing the spring should be easy, however installing inthe new hose looks more challenging.

      Any thoughts?

The spring inside the hose is to prevent the hose from collapsing.
If the original had the spring design, I would replace it with the same type.

          Thank you,

I’ve been looking for advice on how to transfer the spring from one hose to the other, getting it out looks as easy as splicing the old hose however, installing it in the new hose is where I’m having trouble finding information, should I give it a silicone spray before inserting? what can i use to reduce the diameter in order to get it into place? I have noticed that some hoses are structurally reinforced against collapse as well.

          Thank you

Why not get an OE hose?
As to trying to installing a spring in a hose …
            You basically screw it in.
As you turn it in the direction of the coil it should reduce in diameter.
Though, I have not seen a replaceable spring used for such a purpose.
Doesn’t mean they do not exist.
Or is this something you are doing on your own instead of installing a OE hose?

I managed to get the springs into the radiator hose. turns out this model has two spring due to a u turn in the hose.
