I have a 99 tarus sho with a low speed cooling fan problem, high speed works intermittent, but no continuous low speed when ac is on, relays are good and powered, any advice thanks Mike garman

Have you run power directly to the fan to make sure the fan motor is good? There’s nothing but wires between the relays and fans according to the wiring diagram.

The contacts in the relay may be burned. Even if there is good power to the relay, proper control, and the relay “clicks” when energized, if the relay contacts are burned power won’t be transferred through it. If you apply 12v on the outlet side of the relay (pin #87) and the fan doesn’t turn on, but the fan does turn on if you apply 12v directly to the fan motor, then there is a wiring fault. There should be three wires on the fan itself, a black (ground), a red (low speed) and a gray (high speed). Grounding the black and putting 12v to the red should make the fan run at low speed. If not, the fan is bad. The wiring diagram is posted above. There are no other components in the circuit between the relay and the fan, except wiring.

bad fan? the fan will not come on when the red wire is energized and grounded but will come on if the grey wire is energized?

It would appear so. The red wire controls the low speed fan. If it doesn’t turn with12v directly applied, then it is bad.
