I bought a Freelander 1.8 a couple of months back, nice car after fixing a few usual things. Low clutch bite point was one that seems to be a common fault. Easily fixed however.
Videoed the fix while I was doing it, might be useful to someone with the same issues. On youtube (I previously did my Freelander which was quite bad, then did this one on a MGZS for the video. Same procedure):
