Ok … first post lets see if I can do this correctly and not make a fool of myself.
Every D.I.Y. or auto tech has a moment when they are in a hurry and rush a job. I am not going to say my qualifications. I’m not a little dog lol, anyways I performed a brake job on a 2008 PT cruiser.
**replacement list**
all 4 pads
1 drum
2 routers
1 caliperI did everything except one of the most important parts, bleed the brakes on the front left side (router, pad, and caliper replacement). Also I did not tighten the brake line down all the way. shot brake fluid all over the inner wheel weld … fun to clean up rrriigggghhhttt.
To make a long story short I cleaned up everything tightened down the brake line and then finished by bleeding the brakes. The problem at hand is the brakes feel great but I hear a clicking sound now if you take two brake pads and clap them together that is the sound I hear. I think it is one of two things.
1. not getting all the air out of the line. wont say its not possible.
2. the piston in the new caliper is shot.
Is this the right line of thinking? Is the caliper piston not securing the pad correctly or am I faced with another issue?
