Looking to Buy my first Audi S8

The year I am looking at is 2007 to 2009. I was wondering if high miles is something I should worry too much about. Also, are there common problems I should worry about? I plan on doing all the maintenance at the house (or as much as I can since I still have my toolbox). In that vein, are there any special tools I should order from Snap On or Mac, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, I am thinking about getting a Snap-On Modis for my wife’s car. Are there any specific keys I should get for the S8?

I tend to stay away from the euro’s with high mileage. Not because they are bad cars but because parts tend to be relatively expensive for them.
You will need a good assortment of Allen sockets and torx bits for many of the fasteners. Check out humble mechanic on YouTube. He is a vw audi tech and has some great repair and trouble shooting videos for those cars

Problem is a lot of people will buy a European car at a bargain price , and then when things go wrong and servicing comes around , they are surprised at the cost of even a simple service , some makes make it so you must use the factory items , so after market parts won’t work .

Thank you for the humble mechanic information! I truly enjoy working on cars so I don’t mind getting one with high miles to where I will need to do a major service like timing belt. Again, thank you for your time.

I completely agree. People want a luxury vehicle with entry-level price maintenance!

You will need a set of triple square sockets if you ever want to do brakes.

If you have never owned a European car before, I have to suggest buying a more basic model like an A8 and seeing if you can handle the cost when something kicks the bucket on it first. Because an S8 will only be more expensive in every way possible. Most people wouldn’t know the difference between an S8 and an A8 anyway.
