Does anybody have a recommendation on a scan tool I should get? I’m looking to spend around $100 or less. So I’m not expecting to get a snap on quality scan tool or anything like that. I’m seriously considering the blue driver one that Eric just reviewed but in the comments everybody kept saying that you could buy an elm-327 plug for $12and the torque iphone app for $5.99. Now the scan tool doesn’t have to be for the phone but I would prefer one that I can get live data and everything. Thanks for input.

I bought a Chinese knock off on ebay for around 100$ that has served me well. I am about to upgrade and get a new unit that will do ABS and SRS. I am looking at the autel AL619. Amazon just put it on sale for 114.75. Going to order mine soon.

Hey it’s been a while, but how well is that scanner working out for you?

I have a Launch CRP123 but a bunch of my co-workers use the CR-HD and Creader 4+ to 7. Their product is nice and easy to use. Here’s the website: http://www.launchtechusa.com/assets/products/products.html

            Check them out.

At the shop we use the Snap-On Verus, but unless you have 12 grand to dump on it, i use this for outside work and sometimes at the shop. It’s called ElmSCAN 5 Compact. its like 30 bucks on amazon, does live data, graphing, DTC read and clear, Freezeframe, live data recording. Pretty much the cheap version of the old snap on brick. Youll like it, I think its only for windows 7/xp/vista. Don’t quote me. GL

I love mine. The AL619 works great for my toyota vehicles.
