I want to know what the purpose of lock tight is. When and why should it be used ? Thanks in advance.

Loktite is a chemical formula that cures in the absence of air. It’s purpose is to fill up the voids between the male and female thread with adhesive, once they are tightened together. Filling these little spaces makes the fasteners less likely to come loose, and also seals them. There are different grades that have varying amounts of holding power. The higher the number or grade the more holding power. You use the less powerful stuff on small diameter bolts.
It works well, and can be removed with a relativity small amount of heat. It does release fumes when it cures that will harm paint and some plastics.

Text book! Well done.

I will add that you should not just use it on any fastener as not all fasteners require it. My rule of thumb is to use it where it was already used OR in areas where there are a lot of vibrations and a fastener might work loose. You have to be careful is my point.
