I’ve worked on cars that have had over 60 modules. Some cars have over 90 modules. Not everyone is going to specifically know what a “Light Control Module” is.

Q: Why do you think that “all signs are pointing to the LCM?”

General module diagnosis may include: trying to establish communication with the specific module via a scan tool, network bus electrical diagnosis (which may differ depending on the type of communication topology & protocol implemented by the manufacturer), basic electrical circuit testing, and testing the alleged failed device.

The moral of the story here is that there is good opportunity here to use good diagnostic techniques as opposed to just throwing parts at the problem… and a LCM doesn’t sound cheap.

OK, first, you have this topic posted on another thread. I’d appreciate it if you kept it all together. Second, as I said in my last post to your other thread, YOU need to get your hands on a wiring diagram and start doing some testing to figure out the problem. I can think of about 10 things off the top of my head besides some module that could cause that condition. Stop making assumptions, start doing some testing or take it to someone who can. I’m not saying it couldn’t be a module problem but you need to verify that with some testing. I’d also appreciate it if you didn’t make generalizations about the people that work in my profession. Do you walk into the doctor and tell him that you need surgery or do you respect his expertise and let him tell YOU what the problem is? My point is if you’re going to play in this glass house it would be best if you didn’t throw stones.
