Lifting a car on a lift?

      I start my job at ford tomorrow as a lube tech and am getting alittle nerous. I have not racked a car in awhile mostly use a jack. Is there a video somewhere online to refreah my memory how to lift a car on a 2 post lift? thanks for any info. I tryed youtube but can’t find any unless am not wording it right.

        Usually cars can be safely lifted at the pinch weld where there’s a notch. That’s the same place they tell you to use when using the car’s jack. I’m sure every car will also have a bunch of other possible lift points, but using the pinch weld should be OK for most, unless they have an actual frame – in which case just lift it there and always mind the center of gravity to avoid this:

            Use the pinch welds for the smaller vehicles and the frame on the larger. Before you fully raise it, give it the shake down test and double check your lift points. Taking those extra few minutes is a life saver.
