Leaking oil rapidly

My 2002 Oldsmobile van started leaking oil rapidly. I checked the drain plug and oil filter and they seem fine not loose. I was told that it couldn’t be a gasket because the leak would not be as rapid. What are the possibilities that cause that and what and where should I check for the source of the problem?

Some places to check…
Valve cover gaskets
Oil pressure or sending unit
Front and rear main seals

How rapidly are you talking? Who told that it couldn’t be a gasket because a gasket can very easily hemorrhage oil if it’s had a catastrophic failure. How was the car being driven before the problem happened? Did anything unusual happen like you hit a rock or curb or something? And did the car have any work do on it recently?

if its leaking that fast you should be able to run it and watch where the oils coming from
