I just change the gasket on the exhaust manifold on the passenger and driver side, this was not easy since the bolt was
realy @!%#$£! to get out. But i made it after a little fight. I fire up the engine and it still sounds puff puff when the engine is cold.

I found out that the leaking that have been has made this smal crater on the block on the side of the manifold.
So, my question is if anyone have some tips or trick to fill this crater on the aluminium block???

First thing I can think to use would be high temp rtv or jb weld. how big of a hole is it?

The hole is not big, its a gap on 1-2mm as i can see. The puff noise is not that loud when the engine is warm, so i gues that the expansion when the manifold is warm almost seals the hole.

see if you can match the gasket you have with another to see if you can cover that whole. you might run into to this problem with some cheaper aftermarket gaskets. a lot of people might have a fit with the idea of using silicon. however it will work. not sure for how long though. But its a lot easier to do then pulling the head.

I think i go for the JB Weld High Temp… But can’t find it here in europe. Anyone know about a shop in the States that have this and ship to the europe?

Did you check the manifold when it was out to make sure that it isn’t warped?

I checked if the manifold was wraped by placing it on a old window glass, and it look fine. But tanks for the tip….
