I replaced the fuel filter in my mercedes 190e today and the fuel started spraying as a mist out of the banjo fitting.(so its probably my fault)
The filter didn’t come with new washers(brass washers)but i installed the old washers are they like crush washers that can only be used once?? So imagining thats the problem. Could it be anything else?
      Replies appreciated.
      Oh and happy halloween

I think new washers is the cure.

I have always used new washers on them. Never had a problem.

Hi all, fixed now new washers did the trick! Had to go to mercedes dealership to get them it was only £2!!
I may also add that they have to be done up extremely tight I broke a ratchet tightening it (was a cheap one) but non the less, so used good old fashioned spanners one on the bolt and and one on the filter
It hasn’t been changed in 25 years and the car runs much smoother at idle.
              Thanks for the replies
