      Hey Guys,

Got some new leaf springs 3/1 from Universal Group Leaf Springs, and they only have one clamp on the short end. The old ones on my 95 Chevy S10 had two. One of each side. What are the advantages/disadvantages to having one or two clamps?

Makes me a little nervous only having one. I am afraid they will come out of place. This is the first time I have replaced leaf springs, so I could be totally off.

What do you guys think? Appreciate your time, and any help or advice you can offer.

I wouldn’t be all that worried about it, just put them in and you’re good to go.

If you are concerned, phone up the manufacturer and ask them about it or check with another manufacturer who manufactures those same springs.

Yea I forgot to mention that I called the manufacture. Not to confident in there opinion. I asked them about a torque spec on the center bolt because shipping made it come loose.

He said it doesn’t have one. I told him that I would use red loctite. He said “NO DON’T DO THAT. IT WILL COLLECT DUST” I almost busted up laughing.

            So yea… I thought I would ask here lol….

            Appreciate the advice.

Yeah, getting to talk to anyone who knows anything these days is becoming near impossible.

Years ago I was repairing a wooden boat and had a question. So, I called the company that built the boat. They put me through to the president of the company. Now you talk to someone in Pakistan who hasn’t learned English. That’s what has happened to customer service.

If you talk to a manufacturer about simple technical issues with their product and you cannot get any sensible responses I would be wary of using their product on my car.

I would talk to another supplier about the issue you have raised and see if you can get some better info.
