knock sensor error code

1993 GMC sierra 4.3 engine 212k miles

my knock sensor is giving me a code. i decided to replace the knock sensor and the hole was plugged with crud so i jabbed it will a screw diver until coolant started leaking out. i installed the new knock sensor and disconnected my negative battery terminal to reset the computer. i go to start my truck and it only took about 10 seconds before the know sensor came back up.

i have replaced (because it needed a tune up anyway) spark plugs, wires, coil pack, cleaned distributor cap contacts, oil change, air filter, and o2 sensor.

the next thing i can only think of to replace is the connector. could there be anything else that needs looked at?

What code are you getting?

i think its just check engine code 43. knock sensor error

No good taking any action till you’re sure what code(s) you have. Please verify, and describe the steps you’re taking to pull the codes.

I just count the check engine flashes and get 4 and 3 for 43. I look online and it says it’s a knock sensor code

Have you tested the wiring to the sensor? If so, this may help:

thanks for finding this for me. i will check this out and try some of it. quite a few people in that forum are having actual problems with that error code while i dont notice anything. i just want my stuff working proper and the check engine light off.
