Anybody have any experience with these pliers in terms of quality and reliability and are they up to the task of being used daily?

If it is going to be something that has like 5 wires and what not you should really prob be using long handle diag side cutters that are high leverage or linesman pliers.

With that many wires to do it in one cut I would use my linesman that is what they are really made to do but….

If you are set on a good set of diagonal side cutters my recommendation for you to be able to cut that would be these:

They are 10″ long which means plenty of leverage in addition to the fact that the position of the pivot point makes them high leverage. Though they also make a twin force which is even more leverage but, normally requires 2 cuts due to limited opening range.

Here is the twin force one:

Here are videos on the two technologies:

The Knipex line is huge, they probably have types of pliers than SO does. I don’t think anybody else makes anything like the Cobolt. Whatever the case, Knipex are good tools, however the grips on the SO like in my picture are much more comfortable than anything else I have seen. Like a well fitting pair of shoes. I recently down took down a Juniper bush, and in order to dispose of it, I had to snip it all up, anyway, I had several tools I could use, but the SO sidecutters were the only ones that didn’t absolutley beat my hands up. Greenwood sucks because its spongy and stringy and doesn’t like to cut. The Cobolts are mini bolt cutters and have much more cutting power than regular side cutters so they would be a step above the Knipex side cutters in the videos. There are videos on them as well. Throwing my own personal opinion in, as good as the Knipex are, it bothers a little bit that such a good tool isn’t a Snap-on. I would worry more if I were using Knipex pliers in a dealership versus where I am. The red grips on the Knipex can blend in with my other draw full of red gripped pliers thankfully.

I have a pair of Knipex Cobra. Best set of pliers I have ever held in my hand.
