2004 Kia Rio 1.6 A/T. Car will run great for 5 mins, 20 mins, 40 mins then die when at idle. Engine stumbles when revving but won’t stall. The only code is P0802, an undocumented trans code but no other DTC’s. Fuel pressure is constant 40 psi. All PID’s show normal values. Fuel trims near zero. Car always starts right up after cutting out. All relays, fuses intact. Plugs,wires and coils changed recently. Ignition switch ok. Car runs like a top then the ghost hits it.
What to start testing? No vacuum leaks.

Hi Chuckiebaby! Is the fuel preasure still at 40 psi when it dies? Have you checked fuel line / pump?
From the information I am seeing the fuel pressure should be 46-51psi. Im with TANG on this, would be a good time to hook up a fuel pressure gauge, leave it on, even tape it to the windshield and watch the pressures.
All afternoon pressure has been constant 30 psi, running or not. I thought my tester was inaccurate but it checked out fine on another vehicle. Pressure does not rise or fall or jerk around. I puled the the pump relay while running and the car slowly pukes out. Under the present condition the engine stops abruptly, almost like something was trying to change the rotation of the engine. The engine stumbles over 2000 rpm but I can keep it running, under 2000 it stops dead. Then it fires right up and runs for 10 minutes.
