I’m looking at two job offers. One is a GMC/Chevy/Buick dealership, the other is a Ford dealership. Two shops I’ve wanted to work at for a long time.
My question is how quick can you make A-tech? I’m more than above average intelligence compared to many of my co-workers and I can hang and bang with the best of them. Even diagnostics in some situations come easy to me.
The quickest I heard one person making A-tech was one year, Ford has an ASSET program that does it in two. Frankly I think dealerships push people into it at my school because they get a free a-tech after two years and don’t have to pay for the training.
