Hey all,
Just bought this beauty and she is on he way up from Alabama. I plan on keeping her mostly stock with a few upgrades such as disk brakes, power brakes, E fans, and whatever else I can think of. I will post link to my youtube and possibly a blog when I start the restoration.Let me know your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, ect!

With something as unusual as this, I’d be inclined to keep it as stock as possible.
I’m not saying it has a whole lot of market value, but whatever value it does have would be destroyed with mods. The enthusiast base for something like this is probably pretty marginal, and none of the enthusiasts would be interested in it if it got butchered.
As long as it isn’t composting itself on the spot, I’d also leave the frame, body, interior and paint alone for now. Keep it as a “survivor”. Put your efforts into getting it up to snuff mechanically and electrically. Once the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes and electrics are as good as they can possibly be in stock form, that’s the time to concentrate on cosmetics.
thank you for your input. I do want to maintain it as stock as possible and only thought about upgrading brakes for driveabilty reasons where i live. Roads are very crowded here. I have never driven one of these myself so the stock brakes might be sufficient. No harm in fixing them out they way they are and trying it out
Well, after reading up on it, it seems the FC was based on the CJ 5, and there are plenty of CJ mods out there. It might not be too much of a crime (or too difficult) to mod this weird beast.
How about a big cubic inch V-8 in the back gulping methanol and some monster truck tires to show others in your area who’s boss
