Hi, I have a general question:

Where do you recommend jacking up a car. I have a 2003 VW Jetta, and I think I have a good idea of good spots, but I’m really not sure. If someone could post photos if they have a Jetta, but even as a general note, what are you looking for in jack locations? Again a picture would be helpful,

      Thanks,
      ASP

Here is a link that should answer your question. If you are not removing the subframe you can place the jack stands under the rear subframe bolts.

You could consult your owners manual. I like
the frame method myself. In back of the front
wheel. In front of the rear wheels or directly
          under the rear axle itself.

Lift points are listed in the owners manual. It really depends on what you’re doing though. If you’re just changing a tire then you could jack it up at the lift points. If you’re going to do work under the vehicle however then putting it up on jack stands would be the way to go. In that case you might lift it under the lower control arm mounts and place your jack stands under the lift points listed in the owners manual.

Trying to transfer over this information onto my car, a 2007 nissan sentra. But I’m unclear, the green highlighted square just being the jack stand picture, is that the frame? But in the next picture is appear he is jacking the car from the part (frame) just behind the green highlighted square? I’m confused. A video explaining lift points would be great Eric! Maybe you can use a 2007 nissan sentra. :). But being a newb having issues identifying the frame.
