My 1.25 ton Craftsman jack just gave out on me. I’m looking into getting a new 3 or 4 tonn jack. I’m not really impressed with the Craftsmans. Anyone got any recommendations that won’t break the bank. Thanks

I have a Craftsman 3 Ton and it gets the job done, it isnt the best thing in the world..that being said I dont really have any complaints. It has handled everything I have thrown at. The Harbor Freight Jacks are of equal quality to the Craftsmans if youd ask me. Those Harbor Freight Rapid Pumps look pretty sweet though! I will be getting one to replace my Craftsman when it goes out.

I have several friends who have had bad luck with the rapid pump racing jacks at HF. You cannot beat the price, but it is a life and death item.

The craftsman isn’t perfect, but you know what you have. I have an astroline jack which I got as a gift MANY years ago. It kicks but. I also have two craftsman jacks. One is leaking so I only use it to help balance something or other.

Whatever you get – take shipping into account. On a jack, the shipping is much of the cost.

I have had 2 Craftsman jacks. One was a 2.5 ton and one was a 3 ton. The 2.5 lasted for about 2 years and the 3 ton lasted less than a year. Both leaked oil and it seems to be a common problem with them right now. The other pain is that Craftsman makes no replacement component for you to repair it. Its been a headache. Im not bashing Craftsman as I have all Craftsman tools but their jacks just arent up to the quality they used to produce.

I own two 3.5 ton jacks now that I purchased at Napa and they are awesome. Have had no problem with them at all. Very easy to move around and the use good heavy duty components. I think the going price though is right around $250-$280 per jack. I know this is prob more than you were hoping to spend but you just dont want to find out your jack isnt up to the task while you are in need of it. JMHO

Oh and make sure you get top quality jack stands also. Do not go the cheapest route there. They will save your life.

I got mine at sam’s club for $70 it’s a torin 3.5 ton. I’m not sure if they are still carrying it though. I remember it was a seasonal item.

I’ve had no issues with it so far ive had it for almost a year now. i keep the gears greased and the wheels lubricated once a week.

I’ve purchased a rapid pump from harbor freight and when testing it, it wouldn’t go down…I returned it.

If it says Lincoln on it,avoid it and there is a reason why.All they do is leak leaving a puddle on the floor.Hein Warner is a good high quality jack out there.

I picked this one up today at the tent sale. I haven’t even got it out of the box yet, but I’m excited. $75.

I picked the same one up from HF Beefy. I’ve used it on cars, vans, and SUV’s. it has considerable lift height but I still manage using some wood blocks here and there. I don’t think you will be disappointed. The only con I found was that the handle fits loosely and you can’t pull the jack by it other than that its been a good bang for the buck. Let us know how you make out with it.
