      Hi 🙂 ,

Saw the video “How to adjust a cable operated clutch” on the Integra.
I have noticed that the biting point is very high on my car which makes it difficult to drive.

The first picture is a wide shot of the general transmission area.
The second is a close up of what I believe may be the adjuster.

Apologies for the night time phone quality pictures. It was dark and I tried to twist the black thing with one hand (light in the other) but it wouldnt move.

If it is adjustable, I’ll do it in the light but I wanna make sure before I go twisting the cable and snapping it 😳

It does indeed look like you have a cable actuated clutch. Grab the cable inbetween the shift fork and bracket and see how much play there is. There should be some sort of adjusting point either there or inside the car at the clutch pedal.

Looks like the pivot point of the operating lever may be adjustable. Look for a bolt or screw where the arm pivots. There may not be an adjustment on the cable ends account the petal would still want to have full travel and you would not want slack in the cable.

Its not an Integra, its a 2001 Renault Megane (1.6L DOHC VVT FWD, 5 speed manual hatchback). Not all cable clutches have adjusters though.

That black round dial thing in the second picture, is that the adjuster?

according to what I read.your clutch is self adjusting.

Ah that sucks! Thanks a lot for finding those links though, much appreciated.

Now to debate, high biting point, stiff notchy clutch, or spend a load of money on a new clutch and cable.

By the look of it the adjustment is not at the transmission. It looks like someone posted a link and it appears it’s a self adjusting mechanism. You may need a clutch.
