Is dielectric grease the same as silicone grease?

Is dielectric grease the same as silicone grease?
I live in Toronto Canada and getting a tube of silicone grease costs more for shipping from the states than the grease itself.

If I was to use dielectric grease on my brake caliper sliders would it be ok?
some say its the same thing some argue against it. If its safe to go on the spark plug which gets super hot! and on the rubber boot of the spark plug and docent corrode the rubber than it should be fine for a brake caliper slider pin which gets hot and is covered in a rubber boot no?

What are your thoughts experiences suggestions

I believe the dielectric grease is not as thick as the
silicone grease. will it work? probably.keep us posted
on how it goes.

I checked the MSDS of several brands of dieletric grease and they are indeed based on silicone grease. I see no reason why this would not work.

Honestly I don’t know. What I do know is that if you don’t use the correct lubricant it can cause issues. Here’s a link you may find helpful.
