Installing a new engine

Hi I am working on a 02 jeep liberty 3.7 liter v6. I am installing a new motor my friend purchased a new motor long block, includes timing chain installed along with heads . My question is once I install the motor I have to turn the motor manually to line up torque converter to trans will that throw timing out and bend the valves if motor was started?
