My 1998 Honda Civic ex manual’s input shaft bearing has started to get noticeably loud.
Apparently 90s Hondas were plagued with this issue and Honda chalks it up to a “design flaw” but no TSB on it.
My question, is it safe to drive? How long before it causes a real concern?
It’s a $30 bearing but the labor is intensive which makes it expensive and I doubt I’d want to tackle it on my own without a lift. Time for a new car?
