      Hi Guys,

I recently installed some coilovers on my Del Sol, then today was watching the Honda Odyssey front strut replacement video and at 14:20 Eric mentions not letting the assembly fall forward too much to prevent the inner cv joint from slipping out. On my drivers side I did let this happen, then after a second of shimmying it seemed to pop back into place. Was any harm done here, or should I be good to go? I’ve never installed axles or anything like that so I’m a noobie in that sense.

thanks for any input or suggestions!

I think you should be OK as long as you didn’t damage the dust boot, some inner CV joints are easy enough to pop back together as others fall apart inside the dust boot and won’t go back together.

As long as there are no vibrations, noises, and you didn’t damage the boot you should be good to go.

If you were able to get it back in you should be fine. Sometimes they don’t go back in and you need to cut the band holding the boot in place and reposition the bearings so that they go back into the joint. Since that didn’t happen, you should be fine.
