Nothing too serious yet. Just ripped the nail off of my right index finger.
February 23, 2013 at 7:32 am #504299that might not be too serious, but would probably rank high on the pain meter. :pinch:
February 23, 2013 at 7:36 am #504300Oh yeah, even I didn’t know that I could swear that much and that fast. What’s your worst injury?
February 23, 2013 at 8:20 am #504314it’s been a long time ago, and i forget most of the circumstances, but I bumped up against some hot exhaust and had burns and blisters on a good portion of my arm. Had a nice smell of burnt hair and flesh.
The most recent injury at school was a guy who almost knocked himself out when he walked into a trailer hitch on a truck that was on a lift.
I have a family friend who died due to being crushed by a transmission. He was in his 20’s but very skinny… and we had talked about this as a potential danger just a week prior to the event actually happening. I suspect he probably suffocated from the weight of the transmission on his chest.
March 11, 2013 at 5:12 am #507897The worst injury I’ve had so far was from a 4 foot pipe wrench making contact with my shin. Myself and a co-worker were removing part of a hydraulic cylinder when the wrench slipped and the handle end hit my shin. Left a nice welt that lasted a week or two. :pinch:

This… ranks very high on the pain meter. :pinch:
March 22, 2013 at 8:31 am #510601Herniated my L4/5 disc lifting a mat, yes a mat. I hit the ground, thought i had electrocuted.
Pain on a 1 to 10 scale was a 9 when it happened, but since it happened i’ve hit 10 and been hospitalized twice, had surgery, and was in rehab for a year.March 22, 2013 at 8:39 am #510603Herniated my L4/5 disc lifting a mat, yes a mat. I hit the ground, thought i had electrocuted.
:O !!!! Wow…. that is insane.
I had back surgery when I was 24 for a buldging L4/L5 resulting in sciatica down my right leg… i couldn’t even walk. One microdiscectomy later and an overnight stay in the hospital I was good as new.. I was even walking 2 hours after my surgery 🙂
However, my experience pales in comparison to a herniated disk. :S
Back problems = career enders.

I was 22. This was 4 years ago.
I had a microdiscectomy too, but mine was bad enough i wasn’t able to walk without help for 2 months, and i limped for 6 months.
Today i still get some pain in my back but nothing major. Can suck first thing in the morning putting my pants and boots on.
I did end up buying a 3,000$ bed to help(only paid 900$)April 9, 2013 at 5:35 am #514412Worst?? I got my thumb caught in a drum lathe once.. Almost cut it clean off… had to get it sewn back on and had to go through physical therapy to relearn to use it. But shes back on and I got most of the feeling back. GAME ON NOW!!!!
April 9, 2013 at 5:41 am #514417I never thought of the drum lathe as being that dangerous until now.. :pinch:
Hitching a ride would have been a lot more difficult if you were minus one thumb :S
Auto repair = dangerous
Attachments:April 9, 2013 at 6:08 am #514424HAHA, Yea.. I didn’t think it would be dangerous either.. Long sleeve jacket, Heavy leather gloves, Paintbrush to dust the shavings……. Someone calling ur name and turning the wrong way.. PRICELESS… I honestly didnt think anything happened until i pulled the leather glove off and blood start shooting all over the wall… Still didn’t feel anything.. Luckily I walked away with all 10 digits, and an AWESOME story and scar to tell about!
May 10, 2013 at 10:43 am #520600Nothing major thankfully. Dropped a wrench while under a car and got a bloody cut between my eyes and got cut, bloodied knuckles many, many times.
