I have a 1990 honda civic dx d15b2 block and the d16z6 head, dizzy, intake, throttle body, fuel rail, and i am wondering if i need the resistor box? the z6 came off of a 1994 honda ex

The resistor box (If I understand your question) is for the injectors? Low impedence injectors need this resistor box because the signal coming from some ecu’s equals 12-15ohms (high z). Low z injectors operate on 4-6 ohms. Again, I am not to familar with honda but I do know that they run a low impedence injector. Another thing is if the ecu supplies ohms for low z injectors you will not need a resistor.

From your question the head would play no part in need an injector resistor box. The injectors that are being used would influence wether or not you need the resistor box.

Yes, you are right it is for the injectors. Ok on the ecu how will i know if i have the high or low for the injectors? Test the plug? I have tried the honda forums but they all call me a newbie and tell me to use the “search” button. Well, I have and their is stories of both with good and bad outcomes for both. So what does that tell me; that they told someone to do the same because they themselves don’t know the answer and have led others to FAIL. So much for their title of honda God or whatever they called themselves. Mostly self proclaimed. I’ m sure. Well thanks for the help thus far.

Oh, and the D16z6 was for all the parts that followed after it so that others would get an idea of what parts i was using sorry for not really being specific.

Test the injector with an ohm meter. Test the resistance of the injector and see what you get. That will tell you if you have high or low impedence injectors. I will have to do some searching and see if I can find something about your ecu signal. Are you switching injectors or do you just want to remove the box????? If it has a resistor I am willing to bet the ecu signal is high and the injectors are low. This is why the box is needed. Unless you change the type of injectors, you will always need this box.
