is there any way to test a distributor? because before this i replaced the ignition control module, the ignition coil the rotor button and cap, the spark plug wires and the plugs themselves, i have no spark now and i was wondering if theres a way to test the distributor because i am very sure thats what it is, i also need a new intake manifold but thats besides the point, i need to go to work tomorrow and school the next day please hurry

      Sincerely,

      Sarah

Depends on what kind of car it is. If it’s a GM HEI style, it sounds like you replaced everything in the distributor already. This is some info from ScannerDanner’s site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJmqdhhduVc

If it’s a Honda, this site has sone really good diagnostic info for the ignition system:

Was there spark before you replaced any of the parts?

                  Quoted From Beefy:

Was there spark before you replaced any of the parts?

+1 How are you checking for spark?

If so, you need to double check all your work. Did you disconnect the battery when you serviced it?

Also, did you use a test light on the negative side of the coil to see if your triggering device is working?

I wish I had that to make a video on because I have a great way of testing that system that’s way cool but for now I think the ScannerDanner video should cover it.
