im having idle problems with my 97 eagle talon.when i start the it jumps to like 1300 rpms then drop instantly to 550 rps i changed the intake gasket and i chaged two vaccum hoses that i found cracked i still hear a leak but i cant find it thats the reason y i changed the intake gasket.doesanybody have any idea’s?

check your PCV hoses…they are always suspect for a vacuum leak as combustion gases break the rubber down. You could also try to disconnect the IAC valve before start up and see if the idle changes rpm or not.
If you can hear a leak, take a water spray bottle and spray around where the sound is and see if the idle changes. If it does, you are in the right area of the engine to look at more closely for a leak.
i did disconnect the iac and nothing it still does the same thing but the way it idles it what gets me .but im going to try the water sparyer hope i find something
