Ignition timing 2001 Honda Accord

Please can someone explain how to check the timing on a 2001 Honda Accord. Thanks in advance for your answers.

You need a timing light for the ignition timing check. Why do you need to check? What’s wrong with the car?

Apologies for the late reply.

The head was recently replaced in response to low pressure in one of the cylinders. Since getting the car back it sounds like a car that has had a performance muffler job and not as powerful as before. So I just want to verify that the timing is accurate.
