      hello

      2004 honda civic hybrid 1.3l
I recently had problems with the ignition switch (car not turn on and the key getting stuck on the switch, after playing with the key for 15 or 20 min the lit car) so I decided to change the complete switch for an aftermarket switch brand new, but when I installed, all dashboard lights work but the car does not turn on

is it true that the new switch needs to be re-programing, don’t know what to do and not have a lot of money any help please

Well, esp for a Hybrid… Too many computers involved…
Some cars have a security feature that locks unrecognized key, preventing its removal, from the switch.
Let me ask you this, as you do have chipped key. Is there green KEY logo flashing on the dash? For recognized key, it should flash few times after insertion, then go away. I don’t remember if it turns yellow or keeps flashing, but it’s the sign of key not being recognized.
Resulting in all kinds of no start issues.
Start there. Also, did you ever consider replacing battery in the original key?
But I’m afraid that now your security system needs to be re flashed to work again. Computers, what can I say…

Yep. Key logo should flash a few times and vanish. Your key is not recognized by ECM now. It may be due to the new switch, as switch is supposed to have sensor that communicates with the key chip, to recognize it.
I’d start with doing Honda key learning procedure. See what happens. You can Google this, plenty info. Or, call dealer.

              I’ll be nice
