this has been going on for a while but it hasn’t been as bad as it is now, i’ll go to shut off the car and the key will just stop and get stuck between battery on and off. up until tonight i would start the car back up, then shut it back off, steer the steering wheel, whatever it took until the key eventually came out, but tonight i found if i shift it into drive and then shift it hard back into park the key will come out. at first i was thinking it was the ignition switch but now i’m leaning against that because the key comes out after i shift it now i’m not really sure where to go, any suggestions? thanks guys
btw, its a 2004 chevrolet blazer

By the sound of it your interlock switch may be having a problem. I’m not sure how that circuit is set up but the switch for the shifter should register when the vehicle is in park, if it’s not registering then you won’t be able to remove the key because of the safety feature. I’m not sure if there is a separate switch for this or if it’s part of the PRNDL switch. You may not have to replace it but rather just adjust it so that it reads Park better. For now you don’t need to slam it into park so much as push the shifter further into park before you remove the key, you don’t want to break anything else before you get the chance to fix it.
