i just had a quick look at the web sites and they should help solve the idle problem its a water choke on mine (its a dgav the A stands for aqua(water choke))

Looks like College man has a handle on this. The only thing I’d like to add is that if the choke works on coolant make sure the air has been bled out of your cooling system. Air in the cooling system can effect components that use coolant to operate.

Over that thought, I recently installed a Weber 32/36 too on my car (great upgrade by the way) and I don´t know how I can make the car idle better when cold, it idles around 100 to 200 rpm, then when it warms up it comes to normal 800 rpm.

I have been searching the function of the choke plate and it says that I have to press the pedal all the way once and then start the engine, since is an electric choke, the spring will heat up and bring the engine to operational rpms after a while.

But the thing I don´t understand is, do I have to floor the pedal once everytime I start the engine? or is it a one time thing to calibrate the electric choke?

Usually when starting a carb car. The one pump sets the
fast idle. The electric choke should come into play with 12 v applied.
With the idle low on start up. sounds like the fast idle needs adjustment.
You should only need to do the one pump if the car is been sitting cold.
If its been driven and warmed up. You should be able to just start it.

So, that means that every morning when cold I floor it once, then start the car? Is just that the old carb kinda had a automatic choke (that didn´t work sometimes) so I thought it would do it automatically, still, I just have one week with it 😛 and I am still seeing improvements over the old one, but since is new I didn´t have a clue about cold start functions.

So, again, just to be right, every time the car is dead cold, like in the mornings or after leaving it in a parking lot, let´s say at office or work hours, before starting it, I pump the gas pedal just once, and then start it, let it warm, and then a little touch to disengage the fast idle and roll away?

You got it. The idle should stay high until you hit
the pedal or is the idle still low?

Still low, but I know I need to adjust it. Right now I got an oil leak (only when cold and sitting for two days straight) on the torque converter bushing, and on A/C line made contact with the exhaust manifold and blew.

Man, life is taking a toll on me lately. 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Some pics of the carb installation, pretty straigth forward, just not enough room to work with, as usual
