I have a 2003 Honda Element that will not let me shift out of park. I have replaced the brake switch. I have a high idle for which I have cleaned the throttle body and replaced the idle air valve. I went through the idle learn procedure after valve replacement and still have a high idle and still can’t shift out of park. I was going to try replacing the shift solenoid next. (horn works so fuse is good) Should I consider the sensor on the throttle body before the solenoid? Any help is appreciated.

According to an old thread I found on the net, you should check fuses 8, 10 and 17 in the under-dash fuse panel. Blowing any of them will disable the shifter interlock.

Replaced all three fuses. No luck.
