i think my engine getting tried

i have a 1992 chevy 1500 tbi 4.3 v6 .noticed the the number 4 cylinder the spark plug metal turned a dark gray it went in sliver . it knocks here and there. it blows blue smoke very time i start it. it has a sight miss. it shakes a little. seem it lack power a little bite. its firing on all cylinder tho i never had this engine a part. i the truck used im the 4th owner of truck. its all original still truck drives great still. its a bite slow on take off. but once it going it fly’s it hits 90 before you know it on the interstate . i just been do the oil changes and tune ups cents i owed it. don’t take long for the new oil to go black again tho. it been great truck . has only broke down once. the fuel pump went out. i been thinking about putting in a tbi 5.7l 350 engine. i been do research on this swap and so far only thing i need is a shorter fan shroud and the computer reprogrammed for the 350 engine and motor mounts . what your thought on this swap?

Under taking an engine swap is a pretty large task. With that said upgrading to the 5.7 is a pretty good idea it’s a proven engine and it isn’t hard to find a quality rebuild/reman. What is your current mileage and status of your transmission. The 4l60E is standard for the 1/2ton GM trucks however they are prone to issues after high mileage especially when they have been running dexron III. Pending the mileage it may be wise to consider having the trans rebuilt or procuring a reman. Just food for though.

mileage is 3059898 the transmission works great its 700r4 i was going get a junkyard engine i did three engine replacements jobs already i put just same type back in tho
