Will.post pics soon, but… Some of it is presently (well?) Covered with duct-tape. May be more.

It’s NOT a rust-bucket.. but there IS rust. My other truck was a rusty piece if shit. If it’s on this one, it’s all hidden …

So, assume I want to tackle. I have some “Corrosion – X HD” spray.

What else should I get, and what else should I do?

Again.. Pics will be forthcoming, but, if this is something I can handle, winter is coming and I want it as “proofed” BEFORE THE truck sits in snow overnight until May, Mega-winter, was here until the 3rd week of MAY with cold and rain one year…

Rocker panels are usually an odd shaped tube that is tack welded in place. It’s unlikely there is anything like electrical, brake or fuel lines inside it. Those are usually empty. Look underneath to make sure no lines attach to the outside of it. You could get another rocker then chop out the rusty one and tack weld the new one in.

You’ll probably need to weld in and paint a patch panel. I have yet to see an S10 (both old and new body styles) that wasn’t rotted in the rockers. I don’t know but it seems that rockers, cab corners, and on the pickups, rear wheel openings always seem to rot really bad on S10’s.
