Today, I had a flat. Pissed, I inspected the tire and saw that someone had donated a screw for me to use. I got home on a donut and I was ready to plug it up. This isn’t my first rodeo but I was wondering if the tire is repairable depending where the hole is. And I like to know the region where a hole is deemed plug-able for future flats.

You can plug a tire pretty much anywhere on the road contact surface.
Though patching it from the inside is what most good tire shops will do.
If you catch it anywhere in the side wall don’t try to plug it.

From the inputs, I will not plug up the tire myself. Tomorrow after work, I will take it to a tire shop. If the tire is done, I’m ready to get a new set.

That screw is outside the repairable zone and that tire needs to be replaced because it is at the end of its serviceable tread depth.

To me, that puncture is the least of your worries. Judging by the picture, it looks like your tires are worn to the point that they need to be replaced.

Unfortunately this seems to be the right response OP.

Did you rotate the tires often?

That is my biggest sin I committed to my tires. From the time I gotten it, I probably done it twice during it’s life. I got a new set and the ride quality is like night and day. This time I’ll try to rotate them more often. But in order to do that, I need a proper jack that can raise my car high enough to put them on jack stands so I can rotate them MUCH easier. Plus upon inspecting the tire, I had a feeling that it was time. But I was inquiring this for future flats because I do have another car I’m looking after. So I’ll take this as a learning experience. So I’ll thank everyone for depending my pool of knowledge on tires.

It looks like the inside edge of that tire is scrubbed off due to excessive negative camber, too much toe-out, or a worn suspension or steering part which is causing an alignment issue like that.

I’d get that checked out before new tires or the new tires will soon look like that.

Trash the tire and get a new or even a decent used one.
