Welcome to the forums !
Does the moisture happen to smell like antifreeze ? if so you may have a leak in the heater core. normally heater core leaks make the carpet wet on the pass side but it is possible the coolant found a way to travel to the driver side ( providing the fluid is antifreeze ) I would recommend pressure testing the cooling system and checking for leaks.

Thanks for the quick response, I just went out to make sure but we had a down pour last night so it’s definitely the rain water coming in, I’m having a hard time finding where it’s coming in because the other thing is too that the door panel wasn’t even wet
May 10, 2012 at 11:00 am #447502I have been fighting a similar leak like this in my Rav4. I ended up finding that at first the cowl cover screw plates (the little plastic plates with a rubber insulation that is supposed to seal to the body) was leaking into the airbox. When I removed and replaced those, apparently I disturbed something else, and found a small patch of rust under the windshield that began leaking even more. I covered this area with silicone adhesive, and have mostly fixed the problem, at least temporarily. A common cause of this issue is the windshield seal itself failing, especially if it’s been replaced before, as mine had been. I can tell you it is a HUGE pain in the @ss tracking this stuff down. Your best bet is to get a hose and have it spraying on the suspected leaking area, and repair the areas that may be leaking as you find them. Best of luck, because I’ve been working on mine for six months, and haven’t completely fixed it, but I’ve got it down to a trickle.

Other than that water leaks can be a bear to find, it usually takes 2 people, one with a garden hose running it on the outside of the vehicle in the suspected area while the other is inside looking for the leak (gets real fun in trunks). You may also have to remove stuff to put your eyes on where the leak is coming from. If you recently had a windshield replace suspect it, it might not have sealed correctly. Lastly know that GM’s are kinda famous for rusting out in the area beneath the windshield, in the end it may need to be removed to inspect the area beneath it.

Now that I think about it I have been running my AC a lot lately but I can’t recall if it’s that or I really have a leak somewhere, And I did have my windshield replaced a little while back so that could be the culprit but I don’t feel right calling that because I’ve gotten wet before that while driving before that too looked like it was coming from the top of the door somewhere but I could never find it and this is the first time it’s ever been a big puddle like that, Looks like I have some work to do I have a few suspected areas i’m going to spray with the hose and I want to check the AC drain too
May 12, 2012 at 11:00 am #447505also i have found that water can get in if your radio antenna mast isnt sealing the way it should so you could always check that too
May 12, 2012 at 11:00 am #447506hi,
possibly the liquid could be rain water comming from the sun roof drain hoses (there should be 4 of them in the 4 corners of the vehicle hood/roof, passing thru the door posts to a drain point some where below….
or from the A/C system if the evaporator drain hose is clogged…when was the last time you saw water dripping out of the A/C drain hose?
or from the heater core/ heater hoses…pressure test your cooling system with the heater control on….
do you have a beverage cooler between the front seats…possible source of the liquid….i hope this is of some assistance
May 14, 2012 at 11:00 am #447507I agree with R-vin, make sure you check your sunroof drains, if the bottom end of one of those gets clogged, it can soak your floor in a hurry.
