First, here’s the video in question.

As for how long it would take I would say about an hour if I didn’t have to shoot the video. For the DIY I would say probably 2-3 hours.

I hate working on hydro boost . My introduction to it was a disaster. A customer came in with a brake issue, the front wheels would lock up whenever the brake pedal was pushed. So we looked at them and it needed pads and calipers, (slides were rusted tight) when we took it apart the axle shafts fell apart and the rotors were cracked. Got it all put together and the brakes still locked up, that is when we noticed they locked up as soon as the truck was started and would lock and unlock when the steering wheel was turned. A call to the customer and we then found out that he had the hydro boost valve apart trying to fix things himself, apparently he got so frustrated that he gave up put it together and kept driving it until he got tired of the brakes locking up and brought it to us.
On top of it all he didn’t want to buy a new valve assembly and wanted to pick it up and drive it home. When we told him that it couldn’t be driven like this he got mad and wanted us to pay for a tow truck to pick up his POS, We refused so he had someone come get it with a flatbed trailer that shouldn’t have been on the road. I haven’t seen the truck since but I heard that he sold it.

            1. Glad you disconnected the battery !
            2. Get yourself some metric line (flare nut) wrenches ! B)
            3. I’m surprised you don’t have/use a small air ratchet or battery impact.

And how did you know those studs were mounted with left hand threads ! I never would have gotten that !!
